Last weekend was a long weekend for Diego with Columbus Day on Monday, so we were able to head out of town at a decent time on Friday to Fredericksburg. We had been once before on 4th of July weekend, but it was only 1 night so we weren’t able to see most of the town.
This time around, we decided to go horseback riding! Fredericksburg is in the heart of Texas Hill Country, with beautiful rolling hill, and many ranches. We stumbled upon Tres Molinos Resort after a little searching and decided that is where we would schedule a horseback riding activity. It had been over 15 years since I had ridden a horse, and maybe longer for my husband. What was great about this was that the horses were impeccably trained. Just the slightest movement of the reigns and they move where you want them to go.
There was no ‘trail’ per se. We just rode around their ranch (which is 100s of acres) and saw rams, deer, donkeys playing and horses running. It was beautiful.
We also stopped by to feed the goats and that hilariously chubby pig. Friendly little guy.
Next time you’re near Fredericksburg, stop by Tres Molinos for a variety of activities, and even stay at one of their gorgeous suites!
